From December 7th to 9th, the 2023 World Chinese Conference was held in Beijing. Ding Xuxiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech. Huai Jinpeng, Minister of Education and Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, presided over the plenary session. Chen Jie, Vice Minister of Education and Director of the National Language and Writing Work Committee and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended the main forum of the conference and delivered a speech. Ma Jianfei, Director of the Center for Foreign Languages and Language Exchange and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, chaired the main forum. Our school's party committee member and vice dean, Fan Yao, was invited to participate and deliver a report at the "Chinese Exam Boosts the Development of International Service Trade" parallel forum.
Fan Yao presented a report on behalf of our school titled "Chinese Exam Boosts the International Mobility of the World Small Commodities Capital". Fan Yao introduced the internationalization characteristics of Yiwu as the "World Small Commodities Capital", highlighting its "buy global, sell global" strategy. In 2011, our school became the first county-level HSK test center in the country, and Chinese language education and the Chinese exam have contributed to the high-quality development of international education at our school. In the future, the school will continue to leverage Chinese language education to enhance the dissemination of Chinese culture and cultivate more high-quality international talents for the "World Small Commodities Capital". At the parallel forum, education department leaders and university presidents from various countries attended and delivered speeches. Leaders from several universities in our country also gave speeches. During the conference, Fan Yao also met with leaders of the Center for Chinese and Foreign Languages Exchange and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education.
The 2023 World Chinese Conference, with the theme "Chinese Serving the World, Openness Leading the Future," is hosted by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and jointly organized by the Center for Chinese and Foreign Languages Exchange, the China Overseas Chinese Education Foundation, the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching. More than 2,000 people from over 160 countries, including government officials, educational authorities, international organizations, leaders of language and cultural institutions, university presidents, renowned Chinese language education experts, sinologists, diplomats stationed in China, and representatives from Chinese language education institutions (enterprises) attended the conference.
