On September 29, Yiwu Industrial & Commercial College (YWICC) officially kicked off the 2025-2026 academic year for international students with an opening ceremony held at Danxi Cultural Auditorium. College leaders, leaders of government departments in Yiwu City, faculty members, alumni and all international students attended the event, including Professor Li Changzu, Chairman of the College Council, Vice-president Fan Yao, Officers from Exit-entry Administration Bureau of Yiwu Public Security Bureau.
During the ceremony, scholarship recipients, competition winners, outstanding volunteers were honored, and representatives of new students were presented with the YWICC emblems.
In his keynote address, Professor Li Changzu extended warm welcome to all international students on behalf of YWICC. He encouraged international students to grow together based on both the campus learning and the commercial resources of Yiwu city, and strive to become international ambassadors who "understand Chines language and culture, possess strong skills and are capable of starting businesses". He put forward three hopes for the international students: be a dream chaser who continuously improve Chinese language and vocational skills; be a trailblazer who integrate the innovative genes of Yiwu and pursue entrepreneurship and innovation; be a pioneer who promote exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and international civilizations.
Faculty and student representatives also shared their perspectives. Faculty representative Chen Dan from School of International Education, promised to work closely with the teaching team to help international students learn Chinese well, master skills and understand China. She also encouraged the international students to not only acquire knowledge and skills on-campus, but also gain a global perspective and the courage to create the future, and eventually become business envoys connecting China and the world.

Ennamane Otmane from Morocco, as a representative of outstanding alumni, shared his personal journey of coming from afar to study Chinese at Yiwu Industrial & Commercial College, overcoming challenges and eventually settling down in Yiwu to engage in international trade.
Mofakhamrad Sepehr from Iran, as a representative of freshman, expressed his determination to overcome language and cultural barriers, view challenges as the ladder of growth, and make steady progress.
The ceremony marked the beginning of a new learning journey for 463 international students from 63 countries in the world, who will make progress together in this international college.
