On June 11, 2024, American high school students’ group from Indiana and Florida visited our school for exchanges, engaging in discussions on Sino-US friendship. Vice President Fan Yao and Professor He Shaoqing, President of the Alumni Association and former Vice President, met with the guests. Representatives from the International Office, School of Foreign Studies, as well as relevant faculty and student volunteers, attended the meeting.
Fan Yao extended a warm welcome to the 15 teachers and students of the group. He briefed the guests on the school's exchanges and cooperation with the United States, as well as the overall educational situation and international education and exchange cooperation of the school. Today's exchange is not only cultural exchange but also a dialogue of minds, providing an opportunity for mutual learning and growth. He hoped that through this activity, the American youth representatives would gain a fresh understanding of the world’s capital of small commodities and vocational education in China. Ms Yu, the responsible person of the American High School Students’ Group, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and congratulated the school on its educational achievements. She pointed out that Yiwu is a hub of the global market in China, where the pulse of global commodities beats. Coming here today out of admiration, she hoped to lead the group in perceiving contemporary China and sharing opportunities of the times.
Next, Professor He delivered a splendid lecture titled "Experiencing in China, Building Your Dream in Yiwu". He not only vividly introduced the history, culture, economic development, and social changes of Yiwu, but also showcased its unique charm and unlimited potential as the center of world’s capital of small commodities through vivid examples and solid data.
Following the lecture, accompanied by student volunteers, the group visited the school's cross-border e-commerce live broadcasting base and the International Trade Center to perceive the global small commodity market in Yiwu.
